From the latter half of the 1890s to the 21st century.
For its long history of over 125 years, Maruyama Manufacturing has kept ahead of changes and expanded its business into new fields. Founded on fire extinguisher technology, Maruyama went on to develop uniflow pump technology to effectively use water, our most precious resource, we then deveroped our original engine technology. Maruyama wants to help society and stimulate the world even more. This is what we think of when we are diligently work- ing on new technology: making convenient machines that do not yet exist in the world. Maruyama Manufacturing's history is a record of the steady evolution of making things while thinking about the future.
The circumstances surrounding agriculture have undergone major changes these past few years. Maruyama develops labor-saving and highly functional products for farms to reduce waste and increase efficiency. We also think about worker safety and consider comfortable work conditions when making our products. Our high performance sprayers and other equipment that epitomize our development policy and efforts are popular with the large scale farms and agricultural management unions that are the future of Japanese farming.
Our uniflow pumps with a long history of stable operation offer our customers superior durability and ease of maintenance.
Maruyama has developed nationwide business in Japan centered on its Tokyo headquarters and Chiba Plant, and supported by 26 sales offices and two business offices. It has also established a strong sales and after-sales service organization based on close cooperation with its eight group companies. In addition to sales in Japan, Maruyama also exports its products to over 80 countries around the world and has received recognition as a quality brand. It has expanded its field of business by establishing local affiliates in the United States, China and Thailand as part of its global strategy.
Strong measures to protect the global environment are important for any company developing its business on the global stage. Maruyama’s Chiba Plant has acquired ISO 14001 certification which is the international standard for environmental management. This plant is proactively involved in environmental preservation activities, starting with zero emissions and including making energy saving machines and recycling products after they have ended their life cycle. In 2013, we launched our solar power generation business signifying our desire to face a new challenge involving renewable energy.
